my left ear is going bad from my current system, so i'm almost eliminating bass. keeping everything except my 13.5"w7 and my JL audio 1000w amp and the custom box. I really like JL's shallow. The performance is great too. My mustang's trunk is SO tiny, it's pathetic.

? you have bad ears to start with or...

was gonna say your setup is not loud enough to cause damage unless you have a previous condition

it takes a system of say 125-130 db about 4 hours to start doing permanent damage to your ears

My set up in my previous car is loud enough lol.

Deck: Pioneer-AVH-P4200 7" DVD double-din head unit
Amp: JL Audio 1000w/1v2 monoblock amp
Amp 2: (interior speakers) JL Audio 200w 4 channel amp
Front speakers: JL Audio C2 Components
Rear speakers: JL audio C2 Component
Box: Custom enclosure made for my 13w7's specs.
Subs: JL Audio 13.5"-D1.5
Wires: Stinger pro/ Stinger hypertwist
Other: Ultima yellow top bat, dynamat, cat.

Easily could hit 160db. My set-up is damaging my hearing.

I don't want so much power in my new car. hence the 10" shallow.

Any prolonged exposure to noises over 95dB will cause damage to the Organ of Corti and disconnection of the sensory hairs.

Regardless, my car hits about that.

And fucking LOL @ 160dB

Death of ALL hearing tissue occurs at 175-180dB, and the loudest sound EVER recorded was 195dB or so.

There is no way in fucking hell you are hitting 160dB.

Yes you fucking idiot..

Do you know what the fuck a 13w7-D1/5 is?! I'm running a 1,200$ SINGLE Sub with a peak of 2,500 Watts.
I use a JL Audio 1000w/1v2 amp. Boom another $1,200 right there. Custom box built to my speakers Exact dimensions with an I-shape port made by JL certified specialist. I run a Pioneer-AVH-P4200 7" DVD double-din head unit. JL audo gold audio interconnect cables 18', Powered by an optima yellow top battery, I have a batt cat, 1/0-gauge amp/power/ground wire, full Dynamat, not to mention, my interior JL audio C2 component front and back 6"by9" speakers with a older gen jl audio 4 channel amp with stinger pro hypertwist premium wires re-wired.

This sub out of the box, can easily hit 120db. Do some research before you put your two cents in. It's not an Exact db reading but i know iit can hit 140 dbs confidently. I've spent a ridiculous amount of $ on my audio set-up.
No back seat in my car. 56 pound subwoofer. and I havent been able to test it properly. go ahead and make jokes. I have expensive hobbies.
Edit: My audio system is worth more than your burb and then some.

It's not a cost or quality thing brah

It's next to impossible to show numbers like that unless you're driving a van stacked to the hilt with audio components.

140dB isn't that big of a deal really. I hit high 120's and i've spent maybe 500 bucks.

Exactly, so enough of the flames. ty.

edit: You pay for what you get. JL Audio is the best. I can't put a price on it.
