Its appalling what little recourse landlords have against deadbeat tenants in the west. In the east someone would feel ashamed for being behind on rent and they risk getting tossed out and beaten in public as they should.

Society should do more to protect the rights of landlords who are providing an essential service to society

Oh the poor landlords getting burned in their bad investment management. The misery. I don't think society needs to go out of their way to protect these poor suffering investors, we just need to go back to enforcing basic property rights. Crazy Western nations have gone this long with goofy property rights enforcement, it's anti-western fundamentally.

I do feel for the little land lords, May thru Feb. I know I'd have invented some circumstances to get them out sooner.

You see the squatters in those Hollywood mansions rofl

Squatters, Tenants... Landlords, Suckers...
These are sometime the same and different people.

New anti-squat law which passed in france last year was well done.

It's a profession in a lot of places, Toronto comes to mind. Why people continue to rent in those environments is beyond me. It's an indictment on society that we allow this to take place at all.

Lots of liberal cities want to make landlords wear identifying insignias in public, ban landlords from fraternizing with aryan women and shove landlords in ovens.

Of course the worst excesses of liberals weaponizing zoning and regulations and refusing evictions is that small time landlords are being replaced by centralized corporate/foreign masters. The rent doesnt go down, the absenteeism is even worse, slums grow unchecked. China wins, everyone else loses

It should be counted as intruding, given that they aren't the proper owner anymore. Not sure why cops can't just cuff them.

The laws are definitely better in America that way, esp big cities.

Heard about these issues. Just curious, but don't prior evictions come up on the background checks? I am assuming that once the guy is evicted... he is gonna have a hard time finding people that will rent to him. Most commercial rental properties in the US always require a thorough background check and a solid proof of income.
