Lets face it, NATO was created to counter the threat of communism but the USSR fell apart, Warsaw Pact fell apart. There is no need to expand all the way to Russia's border, doing so just sends the wrong signal to Russia cuz they def don't see this as defensive moves.
yeah right, russia is currently demonstrating what happens if you're not in NATO. doing a real great job of demonstrating how needless it has become, totally not strengthening its resolve and encouraging even more countries to join - especially not countries that have always been hesitant and critical of it...

Imagine if it were the other way around, an enemy military alliance encroaching on EU or the US, we all understand what the reaction would be, just be honest about it.
you mean like if there was a totally imaginary country for example, which directly bordered several EU countries, and was ruled by a staunchly pro-russian dictator for literal decades, brutally suppressing his people, blatantly rigging "elections", and acting as a de facto russian puppet in every imaginable way, including militarily, giving russian troops free access to its territory in order to stage invasions on neighbouring countries? you're right, the EU would definitely act the same way, and simply invade it to "protect" itself...
great points all around, mate. top notch. you definitely don't look like a complete tool because you apparently have no clue what belarus, finland, and sweden are...
