And all Western sources claiming the whole Russian military is just outdated WW2 era crap, while in reality the Ukrainian army was like that before the combined West sent billions upon billions of the latest tech to Ukraine.

Most of the heavy arms from the West were only shipped to Ukraine starting in spring, after Ukraine had already beaten back Russia's initial attack.

The West has been arming and training Ukraine since 2014 and big shipments of javelins and NLAWS came in immediately after the so called special operation had started. I think you know that.

I was talking about heavy arms, stuff like HIMARS and such. The javelins and stingers were the mvp of the early stage of this war, they saved Ukraine's ass - but those are not advanced enough weapons to argue that "Ukraine was armed to the teeth with superior Western military hightech, so Russia being unable to defeat them doesn't actually mean that Russia's military is crap". If the supposed second strongest military in the world is unable to overcome some javelins and stingers, it sucks, plain and simple.

That was my reply to you stating Russia was defeated around Kiev and yes this is what saved the Ukrainians.

Obviously the Russians couldn't simply take over like they thought they could but I didn't claim that.

We're talking about arming / modernizing the Ukrainian army which cannot be denied.
