Russia is a vast country, with many poor areas, and its Asian part is even less developed that European part, people there are poorer, they live in worse conditions. Thats from where Putin gets his soldiers to put them into tanks, and they go and loot and often die.
Europeans arent much better though, and dont forget its the Europeans that rule Russia and issue orders.

How do you expect Ukrainians to defend when you guys send them just 6 howitzers and Germans send none?
Ukraine has their own artillery, but its 152mm, there are only a few this kind of ammo producers outside Russia. Thats why they desperately need nato, 155mm artillery.
And you cant compare 1919 Germany with todays Russia. Nobody will do anything to Russia.
Anytime they want they can say some usual Russia bullshit like: "ok, we are done with our special operation, enough nazi were killed, Russian minority was successfuly evacuated to Russia, time to go home (pre-feb24 borders)"
Its that simple.
What Ukrainians probably cant accept is a ceasefire without Russia retreating. It will only give Russians time to regroup, reinforce and better prepare their attack next time. Not to mention millions Ukrainians left behind in Russia occupation.
Would you leave behind lets say Marseille, Nice, Bordeax if it fallen under enemy occupation? Obviously not.

Kherson wants to join Russia.

Other regions feel the same.

Ukraine will never get it back because they are losing the war and lack necessary military strength for any serious offensives.
