Not from Omicron. From delta and the previous variants, which are somewhere around 5x as deadly as the flu.
But how does Omicron compare to the common cold?

Incorrect. We lose 8000 people every day from all causes. Covid is about 800 or less every day and the number is dropping over time.

just FYI DNA barcodes are too stable to destroy with sunlight/temp changes. We routinely bring them to 99C in the lab to amplify them.
