We have been trying the diplomatic route for 4-5 presidencies now. Doesn't seem to work.

The difference now is that NK finally has nukes, and there is a distinct possibility that they can deliver them.



I'm sure Trump would rather NOT have this on his plate, but he does. I'm sure he would rather play the spurious diplomatic card as previous presidents have.

But I guess you are OK with the thought of NK dropping a nuke on the US, or on US allies.

Obama opened dialogue and slowed NK down significantly. During his tenure tensions in the Korean peninsula were drastically reduced.

Trump has done exactly the opposite. He has shut down discourse and repeatedly taunted and threatened.

Not that this should be surprising from a president who decides what action to take not through moral argument or personal belief but by asking 'what would Obama do?' and then doing anything but that.

No he didn’t. Obama threatened NK with military action, the same obama who drew the red line in Syria, watched as they pissed all over it, then did absolutely nothing, so I’m sure they took his wimpy ass super serious. Then he attempted to “send envoys to NK in order to seek a diplomatic relationship with some successes such as getting them to halt progress on their nuclear program”

Those are your words. Guess what happened ? It’s 2017 & not only did they not halt their nuclear program, they accelerated it to the point where now have the very thing obama tried to prevent. Nuclear/ICBMs. He didn’t do shit.

You could even bring it back to the Clinton administration, where he basically did the same thing we’re currently trying with Iran. Sending them a shit ton of money while making them pinky-promise they won’t build any nukes.

Trump likes to play to his base (Murka tough guy!) while the real people doing work are working behind the scenes. He doesnt mean shit he says on twitter.. If everyone would un-follow him he would probably stfu.
