Agreed. China is acquiring soft power at an alarming rate and I don't think they will ever have to use their military. I mean, look at what they do to our celebrities....they force them to castrate themselves on national television.
Taiwan will join China democratically via a vote. It won't happen any time soon but it will happen slowly but surely.
Not sure if it will be democratic or not but eventually I think countries in the region will realize that all economic roads in the region go through China. I think China kind of already is but it's increasingly on it's way to becoming the chief economic hub. When Taiwan finds itself isolated trade wise because everyone else will toe China's line so to not upset China, they'll slowly fold under the pressure and probably in some way just give in as to not be isolated and be able to import/export goods. Japan and the US is not enough to hold back this China power tide IMO but who knows, none of us have a crystal ball.
