I think people are confused on how China is and will challenge US supremacy. It's not through military means but rather economic ties. Whether it's South America, Oceania, Africa their modus operandi is to basically tie various countries economically to China. Economic ties= influence. You don't need massive military bases and billions on military infrastructure to control a foreign land nowadays, that's 20th century thinking.
Another fact that , if I may in my own words.
Japan has been the invader during World War 2 , Opium war etc etc. towards China and also towards Korea. And this is a fact.
Part of the reason why they did that is because Japan doesn't have that much of resources then and China have a significant amount. ( Need to read much more about this because too much information.)
Moving forward to where we are now at this day and age, technology becomes a resource where the Japanese have harness extremely well therefore much of other raw materials and resources can be bought.
They are indeed a very wealthy nation.
So the fact that someone can think that China will invade Japan does makes me scratch my head.
I don't think China will invade and if a war does happen the Chinese will just bomb them. They will not invade.
And here is the question, which of course a lot of people here in this particular thread do not agree.
Japan, Taiwan , South Korea and Philippines are the sacrificial lamb for the United States in this engagement. And their citizens are such too.
But of course with how influential the fear ideology that the the West puts into the common citizens in such countries they are more than willing to sacrifice their lives for America's foreign policy or would they ?
We are still yet to see it.
I am sure our French friend will come in and say why wouldn't anyone wants freedom and human rights and that it is the right thing to do to fight against a force that do not share similar values.
