The Taliban is the government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, a Universally Recognized Nation. The adults in the room all acknowledge that even if you find some governments distasteful, it's very important to stay on decent diplomatic terms with them if you wish to avoid conflict. Further, the Taliban has had diplomats into and out of Kiev as well, and released several statements. Ultimately, they're doing everything they can to insure citizens of Afghanistan are not to be killed or conscripted, and their safety is to be seen to by both sides.
They haven't implied any threat yet that I'm aware of, though that may have changed, but reading between the lines, my assumption is that they'd swear off neutrality, and perhaps help out with some of that $80 billion worth of equipment we left them.
