he makes a compelling case for the plight of blacks, but he does not make a compelling case for why this should justify looting and violence. yes, it is emotionally understandable why some of them react this way, but that doesnt make it right, or productive.

Tons of liberals in the media and also here in this thread are arguing from a position of "society left these people no other choice than to start looting and rioting". There's no doubt whatsoever that the looting and the property destruction is being defended.
Do you really want to argue that these voices defending the protests/riots are drawing a fine line between the looting and the violence? Something akin to "I'm fine with their looting, I just wish they'd double check that no one is inside before setting buildings on fire"?

You obviously missed that the contract as a society has been broken if rules do not apply to some they apply to nooone.

This sort of ridiculous take is only worth highlighting to emphasize that there are many people actively excusing violence.
