Naa I support peace and want the least amount of people to die. Whether the corrupt gov't in charge is pro west or pro east is of minimal importance. In an ideal world, Russia never invades or they leave with their tail between their legs. That didn't happen and isn't happening, instead we get a war that's intensifying, which is something some of us said would happen months ago. At this point tens of thousand of Ukrainian are dead and by the looks of it, it'll get to 6 figures before this war ends and probably 10+ million displaced.
Defending one self is synonymous with war here. This notion that if Ukraine stops the fighting or would of never fought that somehow all Ukrainians will be enslaved, raped, killed is absolute bullshit. It's bullshit to anyone that has actually been to the country and understands the demographics and history. The country would of looked like it did 10-15 years ago largely.
If we wanted to we could end this war pretty fast by simply telling Ukraine that no more weapons or financial support is going to be provided which would immediately force them to the table. But we don't care about peace or Ukrainian lives, what we care as other neocons like thundercock was honest to admit is to have a weakened Russia by drawing them into a long protracted war of attrition. We want them to stand up and fight to the last man. It's ultimately good for us as a hegemonic power. We get the Euros to spend more on American hardware, we whip them up to be against one of our historical adversaries, they are more dependent on, and so on.
