I didn't say you predicted a 3 day war. I'm saying that people who behave like Ukraine has no right to defend herself, or that we're in the wrong for helping her defend herself from Russian aggression, and say WE are the ones risking WWIII and total nuclear holocaust are overreacting and being intentionally stupid. Russia is risking WWIII if they don't keep this war confined to Ukraine. Russia is behaving like a pack of orcs. NATO existing on their borders is simply not a threat to a nuclear power.
I know you didn't claim I said the war would last three days specifically. I outlined most of what I've gone over, and what I've never supported. The idea that Ukraine can't defend itself is also something I've never stated. I will state that we ARE wrong in providing them weapons and funding. It does NOT serve US National Security to do so. It actively harms US taxpayers to do so. It IS a provocation, and we ARE risking WWIII and we're actively encouraging Russia to attack outside Ukraine by sending Ukraine more than 10x the total value of weapons and munitions in the space of a few months than their entire military was worth prior to this year.
One of the large problems here is that if everyone else left it alone, Zelensky would have had cause to compromise. Between the level of support he's gained in weapons and funding, and his eagerness to conscript every male citizen too slow to avoid the press gangs, he feels he's in a stronger position than Russia, and doesn't have to compromise or negotiate at all. He's attempting to force an issue where Russia either backs off or the US directly intercedes, insuring open war with Russia.
We are enabling the worst possible outcome. What does Ukraine lose if they acknowledge Crimea and the Donbas republics as independent? Nothing. Zero. They're all net negatives for Ukraine. Ukraine has spent more trying to keep Donbas in line since the Maiden Revolution in 2014 when the new Ukraine government took power and the Donbas and Crimean republics all ALSO declared their shifts in government. Over 80% votes in all referendums. And zero attempts made in any three republics to prevent any of the other 20% from going and moving to Ukraine.
Honestly, the only people who appear to be unreasonable here are Ukraine and those who support them. And unfortunately, that includes me, since my tax dollars are going to funding their government, who I did not elect, and arming their military, who I do not believe I should be arming.
