According to here it was 7.52 in 2019, a decrease from 7.56 in 2018.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/805069/death-rate-worldwide/

So it looks like the deaths increased in 2020 and not in 2019, now what do you think?

i think you site sucks as i try to find what your talking about around the pop ups that want me to "allow" cookies. i cant find your claim on the link you provided

The statistic shows the death rate worldwide from 2009 to 2019. In 2019, there were about 7.52 deaths per 1,000 inhabitants worldwide.

It does on my screen.

Thankfully d2jsp allows for easy img uploads.

Now how does this vibe with your 2019 bump in deaths thesis?

This graph was to dispute your claim of deaths rising prior to the pandemic.

and its a fair challenge. it appears we are in a dead lock

i found another source 7.524
https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SP.DYN.CDRT.IN
ok sure I will concede that point at least for now. but do we have the numbers in 2020 for a pandemic?

Your sources were putting the number at around 7.6, so we can see that covid has indeed caused a significant increase in global death rates.

Covid deaths match the increase in excess mortality rates as well.
