Yeah that isn't evidence mate. It seems like in the USA, where healthcare is expensive, people are far from healthy. It has only gotten worse over the years with obesity. Imo higher costs of healthcare for the consumer only incentivize the consumer to avoid healthcare altogether.
Prevention is better than treatment, is a common Dutch saying. With universal healthcare (in some form), people will be paying into the system regardless of how much healthcare they use. Which means that people can go talk to their doctor before they become clinicially depressed or stroke out due to high cholesterol etc.
