No.

American voters vote for their own self interest.

Immigrants are bad for American workers.

Immigrants have always been used as cheap labor by wealthy people.

Compared to other Americans, they are not. But compared to a foreigner, they are.

The government's job is to ensure the welfare of its people. It shouldn't matter how hard an Indian kid wants to come here and work hard. Jobs should be given to Americans first.

Corporations are profit driven, so what is your plan to get them to stop hiring immigrants who can save them money?

Pass more strict laws detailing what corporations can and cannot do. Also abolish in-person lobbying of lawmakers, which to me is simply legalized bribery.

Yeah good luck, then the corporations will go elsewhere. That was the entire premise of the right when the other argument was made (we should be able tax them more). If these corporations decide to go elsewhere, it will make America weaker which I assume is also against American interests.

And my greater point was you were making an affirmative action argument that whites should get jobs before foreigners (hopefully you realize there are non white citizens in America) and really gave no reason as to why whites in particular deserved them over any other "race"

If corporations go elsewhere, then we will pass further laws prohibiting them from selling their products to Americans. My message to them: if you want to profit off of us, you better be prepared to give us jobs, too. You are a part of the community, and I expect you to do your part to help the community grow. You do not exist in a vacuum.

In fact, I would say corporations need us the consumers more than we need them. The true creator of jobs is not businesses. It's the demand of the consumers for goods and services. If some businesses pack up their bags and leave, other businesses will appear to take their place. Corporations will do well to remember this.

I do to an extent yes. Keep in mind also that foreigners aren't always put in favorable conditions either. There are cases where (say from Canada or elsewhere) they can have their green card revoked if they screw up in any-way, and then have very limited time to return back to their country. As for your top message I agree, but I'm not really sure how well it would be enforced since the entire edifice is corrupted
