I usually agree with Chopsticks but in this case I have to agree with santara.

Russia cannot say, "I feel threatened" and then attack a sovereign nation. Ukraine is its own country and it can invite anybody into its border to set up any kind of military base/installation. Same thing with the US. If one day Russia went into Mexico or Canada to set up a base, the US simply needed to live with it.

Preemptive strikes...I know that nations in the international scene do it all the time but morally speaking, it's not right.

Well, I live in Poland, part of NATO, and we didnt have NATO bases here. We only had some local polish army bases, and American soldiers visited us for exercises together, with no permanent presence of any USA soldiers in our country.
Lack of USA bases was a token of goodwill to Russia. So was the Infinite wait for Ukraine to join NATO.
But our peaceful NATO position didnt have any effect on Russia, who decided to start the war anyway.
I was not surprised, I know Russian gov is evil. But I hope at least some people open their eyes now.

you are right overall, but thats not how things work unfortunately

the US almost triggered the next great war over missiles on cuba and in a theoretical scenario, where the chinese set up military bases in mexico, they would stop that immediately no matter what

@ bold: nah, cuz there's nothing to be afraid of because 1 - we have nukes, and 2 - we have a military that is not going to be beaten on our home turf by the likes of Russia + Mexico. Go back to recycling your bong water, retard.

It is impossible to invade America.

Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto as saying: "You cannot invade mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass."

Some people actually think the quote is fake. But to be honest , it is " almost " impossible.

But then again , no one wants to invade America. They will not " invade " if things happen, it will be another kind of warfare.

Being surrounded by two oceans helps a lot. You would need to have one hell of a navy just to make it here.

Russia said repeatedly they will destroy any HIMARS systems by attacking outside of Ukraine before they are delivered.

Biden said "we will deliver them anyway" because Ukraine "promised they won't be used to attack Russian cities".

Ukraine has broken every promise they ever made to anyone. We are screwed.

35usd discount is a big one. Given that they pay 35usd for production, it halves their budgets.
I read that China simply doesnt want to buy more oil from Russia, because they want to have multiple oil suppliers for security and independence.
Russia has already cut their oil production by 20% in may, and is expected to cut another 40% production later this year, if sanctions stay.
We dont know the full effect of all these sanctions on Russian economy yet.
But when you add all of this together, it kind of looks bad for Russia in my opinion in like several months.

35 dollar discount is big if you compare it to market prices today, it's not when you look at what oil traded half a year ago. I'm not entirely sure at what price their produce, I know the Saudis produce at around 20/barrel in certain areas. Even if they produce at 35/barrel and tack on another 10-20 for transport, that's still leaves 25-30 dollars in profit which is significant and actually much more than they were earning like other oil producers when oil was 40-50/barrel a few years ago.

It's kind of a black box to try and figure out what their oil exports exactly are. Unmarked vessels carrying Russian oil as well as various uses of blends masks the real true number. I think their exports on the aggregate are down but hard to say by how much. 40% seems unrealistic though. On paper that may be true but in reality I doubt it.
