If Mexico or Canada were wavering, the US would easily have enough soft power/economic arguments to convince them to side with them over Russia/China. Russia is only in its current predicament (having to use military force to coerce its neighbors to stay within their sphere of influence) because Russia has fuck all to offer economically, diplomatically or ideologically.

Typical arrogant Anglo imperialist talk. Full of superiority complex nonsense.

Even at 35 dollar discounts for Urals, when crude brent is trading at 117 that's still like $80/barrel they are getting for their oil. To put it into perspective, that's November 2021 market prices, way above the average of around 60-70 we've had for the last 5-10 years.

ok listen: if russia teamed up with mexico, doing business like they wanted, you as american would expect then its a russian plan behind to invade usa.

on the orher side, while nato expand towards russia, you as american CANT believe russians think the same about an invasion and then prevent an invasion like they do now?

you expect russians dont do shit? you stupid?
its like russia teams up with mexico and americans wont do shit?

so fuckin stupid, youre just a joke mr heil-usa-santara

so lets talk about military expansion, mr „im so scared of USSR“

did you americans or russia expand last 30 years?
did you americans or russia invade and destroy several countrys in east afrika for.. ressources..?
did you americans or russia have military bases in... wait what over 130 countrys in the world?
just shut the fuck up amber

santara, you are the scum that belongs to ukraine, getting wiped out like putin telling you for half year now.
youre fuckin nazi that belongs to the trash.

@ bold: nah, cuz there's nothing to be afraid of because 1 - we have nukes, and 2 - we have a military that is not going to be beaten on our home turf by the likes of Russia + Mexico. Go back to recycling your bong water, retard.

You're delusional. Finland and Sweden aren't even joining cuz of Turkey LOL.

Russia has the right to self defense same as any other country. The US would not tolerate Russian missile bases in Mexico or Canada. But oh, Russia has to tolerate it like it's totally normal and not at all a security threat for their nation.

How can you stand being such a gigantic hypocrite?

Tlk about delusional. Finland or Sweden aren't going to make or break NATO, they just want protection from your puppetmaster.

Russia isn't fucking defending itself, it's waging a a war of genocide on Ukraine.

It's much more difficult to ship oil that you've diverted and disguised. That's a major hurdle even if it eventually makes it to port.

Similarly, selling to China and India isn't nearly as efficient as just using the existing pipelines to Europe.

So even if they find a way to sell oil, the sanctions are still massively slowing down the sales and making it less efficient to sell.

In terms of the sanctions, im not sure that a total break from russia is long term the right decision, noting once we stop doing business with russia, we will no longer have the ability to use same as leverage.

I usually agree with Chopsticks but in this case I have to agree with santara.

Russia cannot say, "I feel threatened" and then attack a sovereign nation. Ukraine is its own country and it can invite anybody into its border to set up any kind of military base/installation. Same thing with the US. If one day Russia went into Mexico or Canada to set up a base, the US simply needed to live with it.

Preemptive strikes...I know that nations in the international scene do it all the time but morally speaking, it's not right.

35usd discount is a big one. Given that they pay 35usd for production, it halves their budgets.
I read that China simply doesnt want to buy more oil from Russia, because they want to have multiple oil suppliers for security and independence.
Russia has already cut their oil production by 20% in may, and is expected to cut another 40% production later this year, if sanctions stay.
We dont know the full effect of all these sanctions on Russian economy yet.
But when you add all of this together, it kind of looks bad for Russia in my opinion in like several months.
