as i said, i am not complaining
you probably have no clue when it comes to injuries from sports, but its still an injury that at least needs a cast to not make things worse
i have seen plenty of people in a pretty rough shape and they had to wait as well, nothing has changed
i will surely not deny that covid has caused additional stress, wont change the fact that in thewest most emergency rooms work at their full capacity by default
This is untrue, or at least not the full picture.
ER's will regularly get close to full capacity, but will then just divert ambulances to the next nearest hospital and bring on more staff for a day or two.
During this pandemic ERs have been full 24/7 365 with no readily available staff for relief for nearly two straight years, and not had any options to divert to other emergency rooms because those are full as well.
This is not normal. I volunteered an an ER in undergrad for over a year, I did phlebotomy in an ER for over a year after that. I'm pretty familiar with what a normal capacity ER looks like, even during bad flu seasons, and we've been constantly in excess of that for the duration of this pandemic.
