Us strategy:
1) "Sell" basic arms and ammunition to Ukraine. But not advanced longrange weapon systems that could make harm to Russian population.
2) Wish that Ukrainians kick Russian soldiers asses f*cking hard, so that Russia doesnt ever think about attacking anybody again.
3) Hopefully make Ukraine an official ally in the future, whether Berlin likes it or not.
Put Europe security on the hands of European, with more focus and support to eastern NATO countries.
1) selling basic arms and ammunition will at this point not help ukraine. if they gave them the long range weapons (the ability to directly attack russia) for sure ukraine would do that. america probably knows this which is why they wont sell/give in fear of a step too far. Therefore, I do not understand the US logic re: Ukraine. If they are not giving ukraine the tools (which they have) to beat russia, conventionally, then what was the whole point of giving ukraine military and financial aid for the last 8 years ?? it makes no sense at all. can someone please try to explain what the US plan is because at this point i dont get it. have they changed their mind ?
2) OK well, I wish i will win the euro millions but without buying a ticket (read; having long range weapons) thats 0% chance at this point.
3) I will be polite and say: i think you meant moscow. if you truly meant berlin then really can you stop hating on germany. germany has culturally not recovered from ww2. they are afraid of being military leaders in europe and as a consequence they are a lame duck. now you can say they are anti ukrainian but ultimately they have given aid to ukraine. fear of global war is a powerful thing. I note Germany has given Ukraine 2Billion while Poland only gave 1.6B. even if the figures are reversed, where is this hate on germany coming from ???
it remains to be seen as to the merits of putting european security in the hands of europe noting there is no 1 country stepping up as being "first among equals" to guide europe (not germany, not france, and england is out now). In such a scenario its more likely that politically they would fracture and therefore its Nato (read: america) that still calls the shots. very confusing and mixed messages...
