Normally, I'd agree with this argument, but not in the case of the Mooch. He only served in the WH for 10 days, was fired again before his official appointment even took place, and clearly only served to fire Sean Spicer and drive off Reince Priebus, a guy who Trump couldnt outright fire himself due to Priebus' strong connections to the RNC and party establishment.
the part you're missing is that what got mooch fired was entirely predictable. i dont buy that he was just a weapon to oust Spicer and Reince. I think Trump picked a reality tv personality to handle a media he thought was very contentious. he actually believed that "what mooch said today" might overshadow some internal scandals in the WH. the Mooch might soak up some scandals, with attitude, and Trumps base would love it. it went exactly as anyone could have expected it to, anyone but trump apparently.
