There's one from Utah that I think would break

Yes, Romney imho is a lock for convict. Collins and Murkowski will have to make a very deep and difficult political calculation, but might well come to the conclusion that they're better off distancing themselves from Trump. Gardner in Colorado probably is in such a bad spot that he absolutely cannot afford to lose Republican voters or turnout over this. Thillis is from a state with a super unelastic electorate where races are won by turnout, so I dont see him breaking with Trump.

So yeah, I'd say up to 3 defections are very plausible. Going beyond 3 imho is not thaaat unlikely either, but surely not the most likely outcome.

In a wild swing and unprecedented display of principle the Senate votes unanimously to remove, ushering in a wave of bipartisanism and productive government

I actually disagree to an extent.

The flip side of it going to the Senate for impeachment is, the Senate can also subpoena additional person's, such as Hunter Biden. That could actually help the Trump campaign.

Every single person who has testified has been very damaging to the POTUS. Why do you think that this is going to change? He has been operating like a drug dealer.

Pence doesn't seem very obviously personality disordered like the dude threatening witnesses on Twitter.

Things like that would be completely beneath a President Pence. Does anybody disagree?

Because there's a very real chance Hunter Biden is guilty.

Sure, Pence would be stable and reliable. But let's not forget how severely conservative this guy is, let's not forget that he was the boogeyman to liberals before Trump even announced his bid.
With some hyperbole, one could say that "Pence was considered 'literally hitler' by liberals before Trump". Under a President Pence, the Washington gridlock and hyperpartisanship wouldnt change one iota.

He is boring as fuck and would basically be a Gerald Ford president. He wouldn't do anything extreme because the Democrats have to approve any law getting passed through congress.

Conservatism isn't bad either. Narcissistic Personality Disorder is very bad. I bet a President Pence would have a staffed state department.

Quote
Leadership and staffing shortages at the State Department have been well-documented through the Trump administration. Government Executive reported that in the first eight months of the administration, the civil workforce decreased about 6.3% and foreign affairs specialists decreased about 11.9%. There was also a hiring freeze for the department from February 2017 to May 2018.

When Pompeo took office, the report noted, “His top priority was ending the hiring freeze and restarting a concerted recruitment effort because vacancies in key positions and a general staffing shortfall would otherwise have led to what one senior official described as a ‘cataclysmic failure.’” In addition to the reforms, Pompeo wanted to pursue cybersecurity, data analytics and merge existing bureaus to create a Global Public Affairs Bureau. However, agency officials did not formally communicate this to Congress.

GAO’s report studied State reorganization efforts as of April 2019. One of the 17 reforms was completed: a plan to improve efficiency of internal policy and decision-making processes. Thirteen were ongoing and for 12 of these, for the first two years of implementation, the bureaus and offices in charge reported to one or more officials serving on an acting basis. Two reforms were stalled that dealt with U.S. deployment and coordination of resources and staffing abroad. Lastly, one was terminated: a plan to combine the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations and the Bureau of Administration into a unified real property organization.

Leadership shortage is one way to put it.

I don't love a President Pence, but he wouldn't be as bad as a Reagan or Bush IMO.

Nah, those guys are not idiots. In a certain sense, "Trump has shown them the way" and they will continue to include some populism and nationalism into their messaging. Just that they will pick RINO candidates who only use this rhetoric to steal votes and who, unlike Trump, never had any intention of following up on this part of their campaign promises.

so abandon the President then 4 years later run a stooge candidate using the same message that won in 2016

There is already one party that has admitted they have no idea wtf they are doing election-wise (D)s so this would make two

That said it would open up avenues for independents
