it's simple psychology. the elites are masters of it. convince a population that they are morally superior and in the right in everything they do, even when they are clearly hypocritical. make them unreasonable, uncompromising and filled with hatred for their enemies. make them completely unable to listen to reason. this is how you brainwash the masses.

easy as pie for them.
