Yes countries are built on conquest, exploitation, etc. Yes, most peoples have been mistreated at some point in time, some more than others, obviously. I dont deny any of those things nor do I believe in monetary compensation as reparations for the simple fact that giving individuals significant compensation who don't have any experience with wealth management will likley not lead to generational wealth and betterment.
I do believe its important for people to understand history though and its impact on current day. In my example for instance if you didn't you would think its a bunch of half developed idiots when really its not the case. Its just their time being conquered was not long ago. Were talking 40 years ago not thousands. Much like slavery is not that long ago. We're still obviously going to see impacts on today's communities, since they have had significantly less time to build estate wealth that gets handed generation to generation. Its not black people are born stupid so look they have accomplished less.
Its important to recognize things like this so programs can be developed to essentially catch people up. If we're all to be on equal ground again, which, as a progressive society, is ultimately the goal.
I completely agree. Literally 100%. The problem is sorting out the liars. Like, real example in California. Homeless relief funds primarily go to those who run them, not the homeless. No I don’t want 65,000 people to be on the streets drugged out psychotic with no future and only the potential to harm innocent people. It’s so corrupt in the name of truth and integrity. That’s a massive problem right now, say one thing and do another. Like my highschool example. I went to school with a kid who failed every grade and graduated on time. He was dumb as shit. He shouldn’t be, the system is supppppppposed to help exactly people like him, that so need in this case, education. How to think critically, solid math, general geography and chemical science basics. If you don’t know gas is flammable at some point, you’re gonna die, from fire. We all know this because we are educated. The school passes him for regional cumulative rates, which garners X dollars from big ol government. Admins get bonuses, schools get money for this and that, the kid is still dumb and he’s now an invisible victim. On paper it’s all good. Same goes for CRT. Sure in theory understanding more races history improves knowledge. It’s just for money in the end. Emotions are easy to exploit, feeling life is unfair especially. It’s politically driven to sell fear, anger, and actually oppress blacks by stating definitively the world is out to get you. Telling kids the world is constantly ending and out to get them, or telling kids their very existence is bad and they are inherently bad is really fucked up.
The dirty truth is the same thing happening here.
