yes dealing with corrupt nations, rather than trying to fix them, is most likely the way to go. want to suggest they get a new prosecutor? fine. want to withhold military aid and basically threaten them by not getting them ready for attacks coming their way? that's corrupt behavior on our part.
Sure. As I said, getting the very fishy behavior of the Bidens in the burisma case/Ukraine investigated is a totally legitimate objective. Using brutal and unfriendly coercion to force this investigation is not.
And if the testimonies are confirmed that Trump specifically asked the Ukrainian president to announce this investigation on TV in return for the military aid, then that's a clearly corrupt motive.* This would make it clear that Trump didnt want the Burisma case investigated on its own merits, he only wanted the advantageous PR that comes with it. It would be a strong indication for Trump's motivation when pushing the investigation: selfish instead of altruistic.
*is it 'motive' or 'motif' in this context?
