Yes they would. You can't starve 1 in 5 and the other 4 be okay with it.

China has it's own people to feed. It can't ship out enough food for free to cover the initial loss let alone the long term burden of having to become a sole supplier of machinery, parts, training, seed.

It's simply not something China would be interested in doing long term. At best they get oil out of the deal, but how long before they don't even need that? It's a dead end road.

Bro China is closing itself shut not only their land borders but also for example by their internet firewall they block anything they deem dangerous to their country, facebook / twitter etc just forget about it in China. There's a huge list of everything they block.

Mexico, isreal, Iraq all depend on US defense so the idea they would be able to stand up against US interests seems suspect. Its not about their populations its about their GDP per Capita. These are countries that are still relatively poor in the world (globally there is about 11k US per person for reference). The idea that they have the extra finance to expand trade and create a new financial system is laughable for anyone who follows IPE.

And yet all 3 are defying calls to sanction Russia. None of them have the weight to create a separate financial system by themselves, or even in combination. But add Russia China and India and you suddenly have more than sufficient economic strength to create a second economic system.
