I am changing my view as follows:
previously I had said that Ukraine could not beat Russia. I am changing this view.
From a conventional standpoint it is looking more and more likely that Ukraine CAN beat Russia via conventional force of arms. I think, now:
1. That the Russian army is inept, unskilled, unmotivated, ill equipped and poorly run with no ability to rapidly resupply/repair or bring new tools to the table. (is it too harsh to say they are not experienced in modern warfare?)
2. That the Ukrainian army is well trained, skilled, motivated and getting more and more equipped (with years of advisors experience to boot) and with key victories (such as the news of the sinking of that Russian flagship as well as the fact that Kyiv was not taken) they can actually win.
whats your view on this ? also, whats your view on Ukraine attacking Russian soil? my position is this would be a tactical blunder noting it might scare putin into doing something...unconventional.
Attacking Russia with boots-on-the-ground soldiers makes no strategic sense, and Ukraine seems to be listening intently to sound advice. Now if they have targets of opportunity that they can strike that hinder Russia's war effort, like launching missiles at an oil refinery, then I see absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I follow map updates daily and Russian control over Izium has grown both west, east, and south since phase 2. Like I said you have no idea of what you’re talking about. Already explained how Kharkiv is not really an objective therefore there aren’t BTGs trying to hold those towns in the north which means taking back territory largely comes with little to no resistance.
https://liveuamap.comPoint me to the map where Ukraine engaged Russia close to Izium and pushed them back through conflict?
I also follow them, as well as news releases. Ukrainian advances have come with significant casualties, so no, I don't buy the "Russia is abandoning positions" around Kharkiv or that positions around it aren't important, because Ukraine can threaten supply lines into Izium from Kharkiv.
