why would you believe there is a heaven ?
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
I hope you know that a long time ago I did challenge everything The Bible ever claimed. I applied critical thinking and analysis. Does this claim really hold true? Is what Jesus said actually true?
I first read something and my initial thoughts are that I do not agree with it. So I challenge those words by asking a pastor or looking online. If I do not get a satisfactory answer then I ask somebody else until I get an answer that is satisfactory.
I still do this when I read The Bible today. That is why I go to Bible Study where we are actually spending our time discussing the passage and asking the questions and challenging what it says. I do this weekly, how often do you do it if at all?
I asked for an answer and I received. I searched for an answer and I found it. I knocked on doors and they were opened to me. When I believe what is in The Bible, the basis of my beliefs are not taken at face value.
My findings and my critical thinking analysis really has led me to believe that what is written down in The Bible really is true.
Now I have a few questions for you. How often do you read The Bible and then go out to thoroughly investigate its claims? When you do it, do you not stop asking questions until you get a satisfactory answer which makes sense in the context?
Or have you seen a few verses here and there and jump straight to conclusions without thoroughly investigating?
