aight and covid mr lexika? you know the %? tell us cmon
covid vaccine effectiveness seems to dwindle with every passing day.
my point was that anti vaccine people often say things like "we need a REAL vaccine that's 100% effective like small pox, not this vaccine which was only ever 95% effective and dropping". when the reality is small pox, perhaps the most famous vaccine of all time or maybe tied with polio, was only ever 95% effective. meaning 1 in 20 people could still get small pox.
and polio wasnt a single jab vaccine, as many people are anti 2nd shots or boosters. polio vaccine was like 90% effective on the first inoculation. then 99-100% effective on second jab.
im not saying the modern mrna covid vaccines are anywhere near as effective against emerging variants, just debunking a bit of misinformation on vaccine history. against the original strain of Covid, when the vaccines were released, the 95% effectiveness rate they claimed would have been exactly in line with small pox vaccines proven effectiveness. variants have changed the game for sure tho.
