in my comments at the bottom i alluded to what you are saying here, but i will expand:

I was not looking for an article which highlights that the media war within Russia is winning such that Russian's continue to have faith in their leader while at the same time Russian peoples fall further and further into hardship. Instead I was looking for an article to show that Russia does not have alot of technology to offer noting they do not really offer much by way of invention, and by this i wanted to use the technology of a fridge to demonstrate (i.e. afaik russia does not export fridges because they cant make one worth a damn).

Thus in summary, when looking to show the lack of commodities russia can export (other then natural resources) I found a more relevant article that people can understand why the russian people are not "rising up" to overthrow putin (which substantiates comments that I have repeated throughout this thread). i.e. media plays such a powerful role in everyones lives in this era that provided it is spun well enough you can keep your people "in line". Thus relating to the video's recently posted re: singamore and commentary related to that countries situation, most especially the pit falls of applying such a model in the case of say, russia, this article brings the issue into focus.

Actually it is a reverse to early 90s saying that fridge is winning over the TV when Soviet propaganda utterly failed to common sense which ended up in mass riots in Baltic countries and Russian Federation leading to collapse of USSR. Again, it's not about making fridges, it's about food Think like a Russian, end of discussion.

Okay, I have to summarize. It's not about having a decent fridge. It's all about having it full of food. If you're in hunger there's no propaganda (TV) which can affect your opinion and therefore can stop you from a riot, (as Pushkin said) merciless and senseless.
Nowadays TV is winning over the fridge meaning most of the Russians are okay with propaganda as long as they are well fed. Which is sad.
Ukrainian saying. "Ничё не знаю, моя хата с краю". I don't care, my hut is in the backyards". When it doesn't affect you and your family directly then you don't really care .

thats hilarious. And yes, in situations like this it is the educated that never come back. this brain drain occurs in all areas of conflict.
