Thought it's a common human behavior. Let me continue. /joke When we are done with charity we have some free time to murder, rape and conquer Ukraine then celebrate it with vodka playing balalaika with pet bears.

Finally, i looked at that link you provided, can you expand on its content for knowledge purposes. at a glance it suggests that the US is doing a hard brake on petroleum imports while noting this does not fit the narrative that i have seen at times in this topic. I found this as well when i was curious: https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MUONT_NUS-NRS_2&f=A still scratching my head over all this energy talk (not my area of expertise).

My link showed the total net oil imports of the U.S., which steadily went up over the years before peaking during the onset of the Great Recession in 2007 or 2008. Beginning in the early 2010s, the shale oil and fracking boom has steadily increased US domestic production, which has caused the net imports to go down. That's what my chart was showing.

Your chart shows the net imports of the US from Russia. It only goes through February 2022, so it doesn't reflect the US oil embargo yet which was issued after the invasion of Ukraine. Generally speaking, the key takeaway is the absolute number: 200-400k barrels per day, compared with the total import of 3768k barrels per day in 2017, to name just one example. Russian oil only has a miniscule share in the US, they could very easily substitute it, which is also why the US has moved ahead with this embargo so quickly and unilaterally. Europe's dependence on Russian oil is a lot higher, so it's more difficult and takes them longer to move away from it.

Just like how some Americans keep asking why the French didn't change the Colour of their Flag to all White after WW2.

And that is the reason why Middle East is moving away from the American influence.

That is without a doubt, USA have already prepared for this since the Clinton Administration.
The Media and fourth estate ability to turn their citizen against one another i.e Republicans and Democrats
And their ability to turn their citizens to their purported common global " enemy " is bar none.

With the advancement of technology and social media this has become a more than viable warfare. I would say conventional and nuclear weapons are nothing compared to this.
Because it has the ability to turn the entire world against you.

Please also note that most of the media and tech comes from the states.
Google, Facebook, instagram , Twitter... these are American owned platforms which covers or is being used by at least and conservatively speaking 70% of the world.

And in regards to Freedom of Press , you are welcomed to watch this video if you are free.

Hey brother please watch this video on press freedom from my ex prime minister point of view. it will be quite a good watch.

Here is the long version with him facing off the entire American press.
I will post a short version and it's essences in the next post.

Question for you

On the spectrum with government propoganda driven media outlets and crushing any criticism of the state on one end
and
independent media outlets that may be susceptible to foreign influence undermining the government to the detriment of the people on the other end (brexit comes to mind)

Which do you think it's worse? It sounds like lky is saying freedom of the press is dangerous to the ruling government. I come from a country where journalist dissappeared in white vans for writing the wrong articles so i tend to lean towards freedom of the press

I'm not talking about you. It's a cliché being applied to Chinese by Saucissons. Did the same cliché trick to Russians two posts above. I don't care about recent history being stick to me. Crucify me, but virtually if you are up to. The thing that really bothers me is how they support to distinguish Russian speaking Ukrainians (which are the most part) of Russians in Europe.

I cannot say for your country because It is not my country. But it works for us and some parts of Asia.
And I don't know which country you are from originally because you stated Toronto which is Canada

I haven't heard at least recently that journalist in Canada disappeared in Vans.

The more i read of lyk the more i like him but i would not like having his ideals implemented in my home country. I'm originally from sri lanka and left for canada to escape the civil war when i was young.
