If my wife have been with me when I am still going through a rough patch while building my business or earning my dues and stick to me thick and thin. Gave me children ( this is optional )
I want to earn a lot of money, so I can appreciate her and buy things for her that will give her certain amount of security i.e A Few Apartments or shops in her name, Hermes Birkin , Kelly bags, Chanel etc etc to appreciate for the time she spent with me and supported me through good and bad times.
And I want to give her the BEst that I canYou need Money for those.
This is called Appreciating your other half

1C Children

Read 1A, I want to provide for my kids like the way my parents provided for me, every generation will get better and better, My parents sent me to Australia to study in University , perhaps if I make enough and I am able to provide them with even better education, I can sent them to very decent private schools in US or UK or Switzerland or France if I am really rich which gives them a head start in life. And when they have the ability to enter universities like Ivy Leagues or Oxbridge, they dont have to worry about getting a loan from the bank to pay for their education and a place to stay while studying.
This is call Preparing your next generation
You need Money for this

1D Helping people who are less fortunate

When society treats you well and you make it in life , return some to them, help the needy and the unfortunate through your own means.
It can be donations to schools, hospitals etc etc etc.
This is called Charity
You need money for this


2. Government

If a group of people decided to make Profit as a dirty word because the government is obsessed with it and while I am saying this I meant predominantly sino centric governments then it might ruin the country.
How are you going to provide Infrastructure, defense, healthcare, education, housing etc etc to your population and people in a manner where they can afford and subsidized the needy and help the poor gain decent social mobility if you don't have Money

Yes I am obsessed with money and profits and a lot of friends around me are obsessed with profits and money too, and Yes we are Chinese

Yes, if not you will end up like Americans paying back their loans for a good part of their lives.

- Agree to pay taxes
I don't think Charity or helping people is a way of paying tax, it comes from an individual commitment to return to the society if he or she can, you cannot bring the money to your grave, so give it to your family and society if you can. I don't see that as a tax.

- Also a shield, even a weapon
Yes, with a shield and a weapon, larger powers will think twice before invading you, because you have good amount of trade volumes with them and sometimes even a surplus, you will be protecting their interests and buying their products, larger powers do not want to kill a golden goose because your trades with them help them provide jobs for their population. More Trade, More Jobs. And with advance weaponry , they will think twice because you are like a porcupine , you won't win the larger powers , but you will teach them a lesson they will never forget

So this is it: Survival experience at individual AND national level. Right ?
