everyone dislikes the cuba analogy but well, its the same principal and we went over this 200 pages ago. sometimes a country will do what it believes is required to be done. that does not make it right (or wrong) it makes it necessary, in that countries eyes.

I am not talking about Cuba my brother from another mother. Love you man, you have been the best commentator in this thread that you made. fair and neutral.

They have an absolute right to make their own choices, and it isn't possible to take that away from them, it's inviolable in the literal sense. But decisions have consequences. If Taiwan were to declare independence tomorrow, it would mean war. If some small island nation upsets the United States by cozying up with an unfriendly regime, there are consequences.

I'd think the liberals are very open about acknowledging americas faults on the global stage. Plenty of warcrimes have been commited by america over the decades and I don't deny this. I do see them as the lesser evil though compared to russia and china.

Yes you are absolutely right.
Not to mention the said country have also funded the opposition with monies to try and overturn the current legally elected one.

That would be a very bad place to have a Chinese naval base. If I were Australia I would occupy them before allowing it.

I have a bone to pick when people want to do comparisons because at the end of the day all these "super powers" whether is it China ,Russia or USA have been bullying weaken nations, to me there is no lesser or bigger evil.
Evil will always be evil, the faster the world becomes multi polar and equilibrium is achieved and multilateralism is achieved, the better it is.

There are more important issues in the world we are facing right now than one country trying to retain her primacy forcing 3 major Area into conflict while she is sitting there protected by the Atlantic and Pacific ocean with neighbors that are hardly even a mosquito bite.
The recent interview with Biden at Lockheed Martin is even more damning to me, praising the sacrifice of innocent Ukrainian lives to protect American lives or at least that is what he meant.

I think there is a very important difference between russia, china and the usa. Only in the usa can you oppose, insult, ridicule and criticize the president or ruling party and have elections where any political outsider can get elected (donald trump). If we assume imperialist ambitions will always exist and you had to live under the rule of one of these 3 who would you prefer? Again I don't like the usa for its foreign policies but i see myself having more freedoms with the usa

I cannot give you China news because that will be unfair and one sided.
It is hard to find because I get them from Taiwanese news .

But I will give you a summary from India Youtube videos.
I try to be very careful with the source I give, any possible anti American sources will be unacceptable.

will watch it later, in the round its a case of:

1. Solomon islands have made a deal with china.
2. Australia concerned.
3. The US being aggressive and threatening some form of action against Solomon islands if and when (or will do something per-emptively) the chinese sets up a base there.

whats the big deal? the us has bases all over the world. am i missing something ?

i accept china and solomon islands are both saying this is fake news but in the round i see no reason why china would not build a base there. if that pisses off Australia and the US so what. what are they going to do, invade ? a bit of double standards there all right.

You are absolutely not wrong when it comes to having more freedoms when you live in the United States.
I moved to Hong Kong from Singapore about 10 years back and I have alot of American expatriate friends who sworn that the American Passport is the most powerful passport and citizenship in the world.
Because if you do some ridiculous shit, the government will try their best to pull you back to USA for safety .

And with 800 military bases around the world I am pretty sure they are the largest " imperialistic " power in the world bar none .

Furthermore, I see the election of the President of United States as a "facade " to let the people of the United States believe they have "freedom" to choose whoever they want.
No they don't you either go Republican or Democrat, and the final candidates are choose by the DNC and GOP to represent their party.

The President of the USA have term limits , every 4 or max 8.
He is not the most powerful person in the world or American, that to me is somewhat of a "lie" .
He is the most powerful and important Mediator in the USA.

The most powerful people in the American government is their no term limits Congress and Senate.

Yes you can oppose and ridicule and insult the president and the ruling party, but that is only 48 to 52 percent of the opposition who does that each time.
You can even get rid of the President. but they will just replace one every 4 to 8 years.

Domestically you think you got freedom of choice, yes you do. Domestically the citizens of USA are more divided than ever between the DNC and GOP and their voters.

But Globally they are more united than ever. And that is the threat to the world.
