I this a better analogy are seatbelts - you almost never need them, but when you do, they are literal life safers. And just like the safest driver in the world cannot rule out a traffic accident, the young and healthy cannot 100% rule out a severe sickness when they get infected. And yes, the vast majority of them will be fine when they get infected, just like the vast majority of those driving without a seatbelt will be fine.

But yeah, the more important argument is the reduced rate of transmission (at least for those with a sufficiently fresh vaccination). As a young person, it's the easiest way to cut down on your contribution to the overall spread of the disease without having to change your behavior/limit your contacts.

So is the virus not spreadable with the shot? Because if you still spread the virus even after getting vaccinated you are just delaying by maybe a few weeks/month

It is still spreadable with the shot, but the likelihood of spreading it is very significantly diminished.

Yes, we are delaying the inevitable that everyone will get infected sooner or later. But during flu season, with tons of people still unvaccinated and still naive to the virus, spreading the infections out is a good thing because it lowers the pressure on the healthcare system.

And yes, I'll admit that for someone like you, there just isn't this one, big, overwhelming, irresistable argument in favor of getting the vaccine - it's lots of little arguments in its favor. Your choice, I'm not gonna talk you into it. ;)

No I really have been considering getting it for some time. It's like you say all the small pros and cons. If I have been in a position where my job was compromised or I had greater health risk I would be an easy decision for me. Although these travel restrictions are going to be a bitch. So I am still not sure.
Anyway thanks for the explanation.
