what's the punishment for burning down a liquor store?
well that's why you have a medical examiner determine whether putting his knee on the guy's neck is a causal factor in the death.
You could potentially make a case for excessive force, battery or even depriving civil rights- but to say its murder you need to say that {action} led to {death}
They need to establish that without that knee to his neck, he wouldn't have died. But we don't even know that bare minimum. For all we know, the guy swallowed a bag of drugs when he saw the cops coming and died of an overdose that would have happened no matter what they did. Is that likely? Nope. Is there any evidence to support it? Nope. But its the kind of thing we'd know for sure when the ME report is in. Instead they rushed to charge simply to appease a mob, and justice blinded by a mob's fury is no justice at all
I mostly agree with waiting under normal circumstances. But I think in this case it just had to be done or wed have even worse riots.
And I think the me report and coroner autopsy will find the knee did the killing.
It's odd how taking a knee can be deadly or treason depending on the circumstances.
