For Russia the victory now means taking all Ukraine.

This makes no sense whatsoever. they would have fortified around the capital and not been so airy fairy in their endeavors from the get-go. this narrative you are alluding to does not make sense. There is no victory for russia here, except a phyric victory noting that when this is all over russia will be in a worse spot then before invading. i.e. the west will exclude russia from the international stage. if russia were to take all of ukraine (and this is not what they are seeking at the diplomatic table!) they would be ostracized for decades.

Anybody here post yet about Putin having a cancer surgery and transferring all power to his federal police commissioner for 2 or 3 days?

That's happening.

Told you all he looked ill appearing.

Better hope it goes well; this dude way worse.

No, we don't. It's about half of all Russian tanks being in service. Losing half the tanks in 2 months is impossible.

According to the available data, Russia had 4k tanks in service.
1k is not a half of it.
And Russia has a lot of old tanks in their reserves, probably another 4k or more in reserves somewhere in garages.
We dont know how many of these are ready to go battle, its all question marks.

Ukraine worked 8years on their fortificafions in Donbas, and you expect to fortify in few days?
Fortified and cut of supplies? Cut of ammo, petrol, food, waiting for Ukraine to shoot and bite them from all the sides?
Not a good military plan, lol.

Their generals sold all their gas as well. Russian military has a Push doctrine rather than a Pull doctrine. Russian units are allocated resources then told what the mission is and told to go forth. American militaries are given the mission, request what supplies they need, and then do the mission. Its way different. The Push doctrine has given Russian generals tons of resources which they use to supplement their salaries. This is why random fuel depots in Russia have blown up.

There are 600 visually confirmed tank losses on the Russian side, of which 312 were destroyed: https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/02/attack-on-europe-documenting-equipment.html

Actual losses will be > visually confirmed losses too, so 1,000 would be high but not impossible

Also, from what I've read, Russia had c. 3,000 combat-ready tanks pre 24th Feb and has another 9,500 in reserve. Many of the tanks held in reserve will be dilapidated but a sizeable portion could be used after some routine repairs and checks

Yes we can agree with this.

I am saying if they wanted to take all of Ukraine they would have flattened the capital already. We already know what the Russian demands are (or so I thought). please correct me now.

Really? Source you posted isn’t that. Reason I ask is because right now there is no objective counting. Russia will undercount Ukraine will overcount and possibly even use their own destroyed tanks in the count considering they also use old Soviet hardware the Russians use. It’s all about controlling the narrative so I’m deeply skeptical of any claims.

I see this on the russian TAS site:

===================

"Zelensky does not need any peace treaty. For him, peace is the end," he said on his Telegram channel. According to him, this end would be "either a quick one - from the Nazis who will hang him for a deal with Russians, or a slower one, from his competition who will attain his dismissal as the president who lost a war." He pointed out that Zelensky’s retinue confirms this saying that "there will be no peace treaty." "That is why Zelensky in the future will keep begging the West for money and weapons, trying to prove he is still in the game, that he is the hope of the liberal world, that he is the last stronghold of European democracy which a bear in a cotton-padded jacket wants to tear apart," Medvedev said. He added that at the same time, Zelensky would "imitate concern for Ukrainians, periodically positioning them as a human shield against the Bandera followers."

Additionally, according to the deputy chairman, the Ukrainian president will continue "to send hired killers to Russian journalists, positioning himself as a tough exterminator, spawn criminal fake news about Russia’s military operation using unfortunate citizens as expendable material while posing unshaved before cameras and talk nonsense with eyes shining from stimulators." "There is no other way for Zelensky to remain in office. That is, if the office itself remains," Medvedev concluded.

===================

This suggests to me that the russians are stymied on what next to do. either way it does not bode well. your argument at this point re: all of Ukraine has more weight then my (original) position re: set of demands.
