cars are heavily regulated, from drivers licenses to traffic rules, their primary purpose is NOT to kill, and the industry spends billions each year to develop systems and features to make them LESS lethal. they are a necessary evil in a modern society. only fundamentally stupid or dishonest people would consider cars a valid analogy, trying to deflect from an issue that is exclusive to america, while traffic deaths are a problem everywhere in the world.


The primary purpose of guns in the US is to serve as a deterrent against tyranny. Their second purpose is for self-defense.

Why do you want a government that would not have its power put in check from an armed citizenry so badly? Why do you want people to be defenseless against violent criminals so badly?

wrong. the primary purpose of a gun is to kill. that's what they were invented and optimised for.

also, that lazy talking point has been comprehensively debunked. in reality, most gun nuts are the biggest shills for government tyranny like mass incarceration, police brutality, voter disenfranchisement, mass surveillance... and even if you opposed any of this, guns did literally nothing to prevent it. there is absolutely NO causal link between gun ownership and freedom.

The vast majority of guns will never be used to kill.

Apparently you've never heard of the concept of deterrence. Nuclear weapons are weapons of mass destruction. And yet, they will most likely never be used. Their *existence* serves as deterrence between nations.

It's the same concept with guns. You remove the deterrence, and the government now has nothing to fear if they go full-blown fascist dictatorship.

Sadly you are the type of person who would not only cheer at mass civilian disarmament, but you'd welcome a dictatorship with open arms so long as it was ran by leftists and they told you it was for your protection.

The amount of extra-deaths due guns in US is largely over a million people since the 60' or so.
Trump and right wing militias are now the cherry on the top of the cake: fascist what ?
Along with psychos shooting children... Butchery for free.
