Several European countries are already using the Gazprom scheme, idk what to tell you. It's a semantical point who does the exchanging.
Think about it in personal terms, if you go to the market and the seller says this costs 50 zloty, you can't turn around and say i'll pay you in hryvnia or korunas. That's not how it works. On a macro scale it's exactly the same thing, if you do a lot of trade with a country, it's your responsibility to get their currency to buy their stuff.
Markets here arent producers of złoty.
Contracts were in EUR, and we have even get rid of Russia currency in our Banks.
But well, if not this excuse they would use another.
Some people say that polish/bulgarian ban was a warning signal given to Germany to dont help Ukrainian people and stop trading with UA.
They know Germany is dependent on their gas, so they will be making secretly continued demands to a german government, sadly Germany is not an Independent country as of 2022.
They even let the Russians control their gas depots, which is the main reason they were emptied right before the war started.
But Germany will reclaim their independence in 2023 or 2024 so it aint as bad.
I only dont get it why Germany doesnt want to keep on using nuclear plants in the meantime.
