abortion will now be a state's rights issue and ignored at the federal level to take the place of covid restrictions or lackthereof.
red states point to the cOmMuNiSt laws in blue states to drum up support, blue states point to the moronic lack of restrictions in red states to drum up votes.
same goes for school education laws, both use the other's state laws to rile up the base. the senate and congress are as close to a ceremonial body as they've ever been in my estimation. even in the utter failure of the days abolition where both sides failed to do much to prevent conflict there wasn't this much inaction. we had ineffectual compromises which failed to rectify the core issue or find common ground, but congress has been nothing but a show court since the flop that was obamacare.
There is no common ground to be found. Those who are pro-abortion do not see unborn babies as human. Those who are pro-life do not condone murder.
There is no middle ground or compromise available on this issue at a Federal level. At a federal level, all you can do is arbitrarily pick sides, which is NOT the duty of the federal government.
The Constitution is specific that any rights not enumerated therein are the purview of the States. Nowhere is abortion in the Constitution. Therefore, it's a State issue.
Good ruling, and any talk of "compromise" from the pro-Roe crowd is silly. Roe wasn't a compromise. It forced states who's people opposed it to allow the murder of people.
What pisses me off about this decision the most is that it was released on a Friday. The court's going to go home and ignore the goings on. Meanwhile, there'll be a long weekend of murder and violence from the progressive left.
Seeing the damage report from places like Portland Oregon, Chicago Illinois, Baltimore Maryland, and Washington DC, where abortion will remain completely unchanged, should be quite interesting.
