I agree with you. I don't see a scenario where Floyd "should" have died or his death was justified. I haven't dived into it fully, but the evidence of manslaughter is pretty clear.

I generally side with the police in these terrible scenarios - probably 75% of the time plus - but this is not one of them. Floyd might have been a "bad guy" he was high on drugs apparently and wasn't a model citizen.

That doesn't mean you should have your life terminated. Your character doesn't factor into that.
