how can it muddy the water for republicans to pursue the facts at issue in the very reason Democrats are trying to impeach Trump?
I still don't see how democrats are supposed to divorce "Trump solicited Ukraine to investigate Biden" from "What Trump wanted Ukraine investigated for"

I think that this impeachment process serves two purposes at once: take down, or at least damage Trump. And take down Biden.

Imho, the Democratic leadership has understood that Biden just doesnt cut it as the standard bearer, and they are deeply worried about Warren for various reasons. I believe Biden being a collateral damage of these hearings is deliberate.
So they kill two birds with one stone, and can then start rallying behind some other candidate (Buttigieg or Harris or Klobuchar).

You're smart enough to know that it's bullshit lol. Trump doesn't give a fuck about Ukraine or anything else because he's self-serving. If it wasn't his political opponent, he would ignore it. If it was Kerry's son, Clinton's son, or any other high profile Democrat, he'd do the same thing.

excuse me sir, he said "drain the swamp" 10,000 time in 2016. clearly his campaign slogans, much like the Wall he promised and delivered on and the fact that HRC is in prison, are solid gold. just like his toilet seat that is NOT painted gold, it's solid 24k.

Live audio of Trump threatening Ukrainian leadership with assassination should they fail to wholesale fabricate criminal charges into Burisma for the express political purpose of helping Trump's re-election campaign.

With technology these days, I wouldn't trust live audio. Don't let the deep state fool you.

So we should impeach him because he's inconsistent?

Trump asking a foreign country to conduct a legitimate investigation into an obvious case of corruption is entirely within bounds of normal political behavior.

If it's self-serving and highly unusual absolutely. Remember, impeachment is simply having enough evidence to have a trial. I think we have that and we'll let the Senate decide.

Yes, but it's not normal political behavior to be withholding crucial military aid over an investigation which, while legitimate, concerns a rather irrelevant case in the grand scheme of things.

On the world stage, we cant choose who we're working with. Dealing with Saudi Arabia and China is absolutely inevitable for any American president.

yes dealing with corrupt nations, rather than trying to fix them, is most likely the way to go. want to suggest they get a new prosecutor? fine. want to withhold military aid and basically threaten them by not getting them ready for attacks coming their way? that's corrupt behavior on our part. im more highlighting hypocrisy in Trump's defenses than anything. there's contradiction.
