not very often i get to talk to a doctor

what do you think of this study?

"Viral loads of breakthrough Delta variant infection cases were 251 times higher than those of cases infected with old strains detected between March-April 2020."

does this just mean, the delta strain replicates faster and easier?

also where do you practice? america?

Not an MD, but ya the r0 factor is 3-5x higher than the original variant. This is mainly because the viral load is 1000x higher in patients with it.

I assume you were talking to me, not sure though.

i hate to break it to you but the guys one of many medical professionals that all say please get vaccinated. many of which would cite much of the same reasoning he has. miss me with that "never had a chance until now" shit

Yes, you can still get covid if you’re vaccinated. But the viral shedding duration is 2/3rds as short and it drastically decreases, nearly eliminates, the likelihood of you developing life threatening symptoms.

ahh

so breakthrough still carry more covid, but the what they call immunity is higher, so the virus dies faster, but there is initially a higher viral load within vaccinated breakthrough covid patients
