Imagine being Ukraine. Country 3 times bigger than yours is trying to kill yours using fake reasoning. As a relatively young country with a difficult history, you also dont have more war heroes, than controversial ones who were also killing civilians as well as enemies.
What do you do? Of course you ally all the parties in your country for nation defence, and you worship your "Heroes" who "faught for freedom in the war".
Even the wonderful USA aint perfect, dont ask Ukraine to be. People arent perfect, even in liberal world.

So the jewish people called us bad people, which we are not :) Its all dispute about money.

Back to topic about Azov. I believe some of their members could have been neonazi before the 2014 year, but for sure they changed after the 2014 year, and no Ukraine man is neonazi today.
I have a polish friend that is a very right wing one, one year ago he spoke bad things about Ukrainians, because our countries had a "difficult history".
Now he offered his second flat for free for Ukrainians, and keeps on sending money to help UA. War changes things and makes 100 years old events irrevelant.
