But blacks in SC probably only got behind Biden in sufficient numbers because of Clyburn's endorsement.
The point I've been making for a long time still stands: Biden was and is a weak candidate - the party didnt really get convinced by his candidacy. Instead, the party tried as hard and as long as it possibly could to find a better alternative not named Sanders. But it couldnt, and only when it became clear that Bernie was threatening to run away with the nomination did the mainstream of the party give up and accept the fact that Biden is the still the least flawed non-Bernie candidate, despite his glaring weaknesses.
The party didnt get convinced by Biden, it got convinced about the lack of a better alternative.
