sounds great, it truly does, however what you describe remains to be seen right now
btw 10 billion is pretty cheap to other shit like being fat or smoking, although these two factors are top reasons for covid hospitalization themselves
sorry, but pointing out covid treatment cost like its the ultimate burden is ridiculous
that being said, nobody should be forced to pay for other peoples healthcare
i am paying a shitton every month and while i receive very little in return i am financing 300 pound walmart legends, gender change surgery bullshit and illegal migrants who never paid a penny
If you want healthcare to be cheaper you should actually be paying for absolutely everybody else's healthcare in a nationalized system.
The reason is beacuse even if you do pay your own way, you are still subsidizing others because they aren't paying for their own care and hospitals are taking a loss on it. If a 500lb person without health insurance comes in, you will be paying for them in the form of increased cost because the hospital took a loss treating them.
Additionally, bulk rates are always better. A pool of 300 million people will pay substantially lower rates than a pool of 1 million in a traditional insurance network.
And lastly, when the government is administering healthcare payments, they have an incentive to do things like cutting corn subsidies to reduce excess calories which makes it far more difficult to balloon to 500lb.
