We know floyd was a criminal, he is not on trial, he is dead.
This is correct.
My level of concern is growing, regarding this trial. Mainstream media sources are reporting on every moment of the trial that they consider a "slam dunk" for the prosecution, then inserting their opinion that he'll be found guilty on all charges.
Meanwhile, they're minimizing the Defense's very real sowing of doubt. While they're talking about the "expert testimony" of non-experts nonstop, they're completely ignoring the Defense's expert's testimony implying Floyd died due to overdose, hold was legal, and no injury consistent with asphyxiation or compressed lungs exist.
I do not presume to know how the verdict will go. But I have a high level of concern regarding the media portrayal. It is the prosecution's job to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Chauvin is guilty. It is NOT the defense's job to prove he was innocent. Merely raise doubt.
The amount of doubt they've raised is significantly higher than the level of proof the Prosecution has provided, as of this time, according to most legal experts. Chauvin could literally be acquitted. Yet the expectations the media analysis has created is that convictions are a slam dunk.
If anything, I tend to think the media is intentionally creating an expectation that will lead directly to the worst riots we've ever seen. It's purely harmful reporting. Even the OJ trial had more honest reporting than this, and most experts agree that trial was mostly a farce.
