Unfortunately, this it outdated data. In May, Delta was not dominant yet and most vaccinations among the risk groups (age 60+ or preexisting conditions) were very fresh and hadn't started to wane yet.

Vaccinations are still offering a very good protection and all the disphits should get them, but we have to be honest. By now, breakthrough infections/deaths will have a higher share than 1.1%/0.8%.

Is this true? I mean, they're talking people with both shots may now need to get a booster shot after only 5 months. If vaccines are "effective" isn't that kind of a problem?

T-Cell immunity seems to be more effective, just as with the flu. Get one strain, other strains are less of a danger, more of a... cold. No?

If anything, it seems like the insistence that those who've had covid should still get vaccinated is kind of stupid the more it appears the vaccines aren't effective long term.

So incredibly low incidents of breakthrough cases among those who've already caught the virus is a reason to get the vaccine, when the incident rate of vaccine breakthrough cases is already higher than those of the people who already caught the virus?

I addressed your point exactly the way it deserved the be addressed.

The vast majority of those who've contracted covid were not hospitalized and did not die. Covid is not particularly dangerous to the young and healthy. All the relevant data indicates that catching covid provides lasting resistance against future infection, with breakthrough cases being more minor than the initial infection.

So, once again, why should those who've already caught the virus be vaccinated? It's a simple question, the answer should be very simple.
