come on, you don't believe for a second that hillary focusing on the potential judicial appointments trump will make would have been a winning strategy in 2016, lol. you know as well as me that it's a very unsexy topic that would have bored the superficial american public to death. even with the massive benefit of hindsight (a rapist making it through confirmation hearings, rbg dying, and all that) there is no way you actually convinced yourself this would have worked for her...
i share your criticism of msm's love for headline-grabbing bullshit (although trump's unapologetic racist dogwhistling was certainly more than just a minor quirk), and democrats' repeated strategic failures and miscalculations, but that doesn't mean that this was preventable by merely a media focus shift - not that i find the general approach of blaming the side who didn't prevent it over the side who actively caused the issue particularly convincing or intellectually honest to begin with... and it sure as hell doesn't support your initial claim that it was "missed" how many judges he appointed.
the strategy she chose, focus on sexism and racism, lost. and she basically did a victory tour for months before losing. maybe focusing on reality isn't sexy, nor a winning strategy, but if she called out that abortion dies with trump appointments maybe it would have been a better outcome.
as to my claim i believe most americans are unaware or only tangentially aware of the level of judges trump appointed outside of the scotus, and are only aware of the Kavanaugh appointment due to rape allegations. whereas many other events of the trump presidency are crystal clear in their memories. that is what i meant by "missed". it's barely a footnote in their recollection. this is due to how unsexy the topic is, and how boring most people find civics in general. a major fault of the american people and an issue we continue to struggle with, one im sure isn't unique to the USA in any way.
