See, this is just lazy and makes your defense for capitalism hold no credibility whatsoever.
Capitalism is designed in such a way that anyone who chooses not to participate will be homeless, and forced to eat out of trash cans or die out of starvation. Don't fool yourself into thinking that people have a choice about it.

Poor people wouldn't have anything if we went back to banks having to have full reserves. Now its a house of cards but a lot of people have a lot of stuff.

Apply that to savings and loans maybe but not corporate entities that aren't real people that can go to a bank and take their money out.

Just in comparison to something like the USSR, we've had it better.

Except we have infinitely more freedom. You have much more control than someone in communism does over your own situation.

Hell people come here with nothing and make it work. Is it pleasant or easy? No. You will probably have to have multiple people living in an apartment, but it can be done.

I enjoy having weekends off (and no, not all Americans have this). Plus we have offerred forms of assistance to the homeless. We have homeless shelters, soup kitchens. Food drives. I highly doubt this occurred in the USSR.

Is it perfect? No, but it's better than a society that even while working you may starve. And that concept is applied to very large amounts of people historically in communism.
