I do agree with more checks on the President, but I also believe there needs to be more oversight on the House and Senate. Our government is too divided in political ideology.

I agree, but i also think most of the need for oversight stems from them not doing their job. they get bored of proposing dead legislation and fuck around. if ALL law had to go through them, as well as a different system of setting the budget, and they had to approve all foreign engagements, i think they'd get up to less of this political bullshit.

i mean just think about this, for as long as Trump is president, the democratic controlled house literally doesnt have a job. they're an entire house of sitting ducks unless the president approaches them for a bipartisan deal, which he wont do after impeachment. millions and millions in salaries, billions in overall costs. all to do literally nothing. can u blame them for digging up dirt and impeaching? better than playing solitaire.

A question for everyone here:

What level of evidence do you need to support the impeachment process against Trump?

Live audio of Trump threatening Ukrainian leadership with assassination should they fail to wholesale fabricate criminal charges into Burisma for the express political purpose of helping Trump's re-election campaign.

AOC got promoted to silver rank in league!

When it comes to divided political ideology in Congress: I'm afraid there's no solution to that. These people represent the population, and the population IS increasingly divided. The political polarization and gridlock in Congress only reflects the divide which is out there across the whole country.

I think bringing up Hunter Biden's name a lot is really effective. It muddies the water enough to cast doubt and that's all the GOP needs.

I just think the system needs an overhaul. I believe our Congress has turned more into the civil structure of the Roman Empire. I believe there are ways to fix healthcare and taxation through out this country and that's by forcing them to live by the same bills they pass into law.

the public is divided, imo, because they've been led there. the media and the politicians are the ones telling them the other side is evil and their differences are irreconcilable. this is a lie, and political division is based on this lie.

why can they lie like this? well 2 reasons. 1 the public doesnt hold them to account, you dont need to get shit done just your very presence means the other side isnt in office so you're given cheap "wins" just for being there. 2. the power of the presidency means u can tell the other side their evil and then not need them in the legislature.

we the people need to stop #1. winning isn't a win, its the start of the game. #2 much tougher.

Yep. Pushing the "Trump and Biden are equaly corrupt"-narrative is all the GOP needs to close its ranks and keep the base on board.

how can it muddy the water for republicans to pursue the facts at issue in the very reason Democrats are trying to impeach Trump?
I still don't see how democrats are supposed to divorce "Trump solicited Ukraine to investigate Biden" from "What Trump wanted Ukraine investigated for"
